Hi, I left SHS in about October of 1985. I was just about to complete year 10 but had to move due to family. I would love to catch up with all those that were in my year.
As for what I have done since finishing in year 10, well I am a SLSO (School Learning Support Officer) as well as a 2LT (AAC) of the Australian Army Cadets - something that I love doing. So please, anyone from that year, contact me.

Hi there, I was at Weroona Boys' Home - one of the "Gub's" and spent years 8-9 (1981-1983) at SHS. Just checking who is around. I had a ball at Springwood - good years of my life. My nickname was "Frog" (well, that was one of them). Send me an email. Bye for now. |

I attended SHS from 1980-1985. Have many fond memories from this time - Jesmond visits, musicals with Des O'Malley, movie club, Mr "Tex" Rogers, Doug McKelvey and my fave - John "Paddle Pop Lion" Hill. Travelled a bit, lived, loved and laughed a lot. Am now the proud mama of three girls and have my own business as an interior designer. |

I attended SHS way back from 1980 to 1984 where I passed my year 10 exams. I am married with four fantastic kids. I just felt nostalgic and decided to see how of if my old high school had changed and if any of the teachers were still around. |

Noticed that there were not many ancient students on alumni list. I was there from 1971 to 1977, even crazily repeated year 6 there. now my daughter did Pathways taking the stress from the HSC.

Since completing my HSC in 2002, I attended UWS and received my Bachelor of Nursing and have been working as a Registered Nurse at Nepean Hospital since 2006. I am currently completing my Master of Nursing (Advanced Clinical Practice) at UTS and should be completed at the end of this year (2010).
I have great memories of Springwood High School and would be grateful if a ten year reunion is arranged to see all the people I went to high school with and find out where their lives have taken them and the journeys they have been on over the years. |

The Blue Mountains circa 1976-1981 didn't have a lot of choice re high schools. I have to say attending SHS was a unique experience that prepared me well for the variety of life ahead.
The school kids were an eclectic bunch ... complete ruffians to culture-vultures. I guess I was somewhere in between. My overall memory was rough kids, bullies who ruled the grounds and bushland beyond, yet an amazingly talented art scene and original musicals - some really talented, hilarious kids went there and Des O'Malley wrote great scores.
I must have been ADHD back then and gave the teachers a woeful time! I now work in news/film/TV. Cheers. |

Hi, I left SHS after year 11 in '81 and am looking for copies of our school photos (I lost all my old photos when I moved to Ireland in '99). Also, I'm hoping to track down my best friend from my last years at school, Morgan Thomas. He and I were both going to become Park Rangers (I understand Morgan eventually did, after doing Ag Science at Armidale Uni, and I - too keen to get out on my own and earn money - joined the Air Force instead).
I'm also keen to track down Allison Chivers (became a physio?).
I have many great memories from my days at SHS, had some great friends, wild adventures that kids who didn't grow up in the Mountains could only dream of, and of course, some amazing teachers. Especially my science teachers who I'm sure I made suffer above and beyond the call of duty. |

I left SHS in 1988 and completed an apprenticeship in Fitting and Machining with the Department of Defence. I now live in Bathurst NSW with my wife Kirsty and three year old son Marcus. I curtrently work with Downer EDI Rail as the OHS Office and am completing a Bachelor of Technical & Applied Studies through Charles Sturt University. I aim to teach TAS at high school and have taught fitting and machining in TAFE as well as language, literacy and numeracy. It would be great to hear from any students from 1988 and it is amazing to see that some of the teachers from 1988 are still at SHS. |

Wow, it was by chance that I came across our old school's website. I would love to hear from a few old friends, that would be great. I have been busy with our business in repairing mobile phones. I am living out west near Merrylands and would love to catch up. Springwood High gave me a lot of memories that are unforgettable. Great teachers, namely Sister Anne, the principal of all principals, you are the best. Where are you? Mr Whelan, how are things? |

My name is Jodie Hardinge, my mother Denise Hardinge taught at SHS in 1971 for 6 months then from 1973 to 1976 and also in 1981. She is now at the point of retiring from a long career in teaching and I would like to attempt to organise a reunion of any past students and/or co-workers. I have created a Facebook site called Denise Hardinge Retirement Reunion:

Hi class of 1980. Living in Tasmania has cut all communication with any old class mates and friends. I heard something on the radio about a school reunion down here and wondered if there had been another reunion organised up there. It will be 30 years next yer and the last reunion I went to was over 20 years ago when I was still in NSW. It would be interesting to see how everyone's going. |

I only recently left school for a year to have a gap between years 10 and 11. I now have moved and I am continuing my education further at another school. I have had so many memories at Springwood and whilst at my new school I constantly reminisce about those precious moments.
Unfortunately I will not be graduating this year with the fellow students there whom I truly miss. MANY thanks to the teachers who made this time so special and have dealt with having myself at an immature age, being a student. How did you do it?

Went to Faulconbridge Primary then Springwood High School from 1981 to 1986, which effectively means I completed all of my primary and secondary education in Grose Road, Faulconbridge. My older sisters, Anne and Kay, also went to those schools.
Mixed memories of those years. Some good, some not so good. In fact, some memories are just not there ar all due to a combination of aging and excesses of one sort or another.
Have been employed in Corrections since 1994 (yes, I always thought there was a better than average chance of being behind bars), now a Parole Officer at Maitland in the Hunter Valley.
Married since 1992 to Vanessa (nee Stockley) who also went to Springwood but we didn't meet there. We have two boys, Alasdair and Richard.
I think I missed out on a reunion do a few years back which I was sad about.

I was an exchange student from the United States during the 1981 high school year.
That year in Australia changed my life. I've only been back once (to be the best man at Craig McEachern's wedding) but returning again some day is on my list.
If you ever hear from alumni from that long ago, please pass along my email address. I'd love to hear from some of those long lost friends.
As for me, I have a family (4 kids) and a career in technology. I alsoown my own business - a small pizzeria and bar here in Colorado.
Thanks to all - and, perhaps even an apology to any staff at the school. I wasn't the best student while i was there but I think I did have a positive affect on at least some of the people I met. Thanks again to all the Aussies that made me a better person (teachers and students and business owners that were part of the local Rotary Club).

Would have completed year 12 in 1997, though left in 1993 sadly, as my memories are the best from this school and everyone in it!
Married now with 4 children (all girls). I've gone through several careers, courses and diplomas to get to where I am now, doing what I love which is a Les Mills Fitness Instructor. A job that couldn't make me happier! Would love to catch up with anyone from school days.

My name is Adrian David, I was known as "Roy" the Indonesian exchange student in 1991. My roll call was 11R4 and my favourite teachers were Ms Martin, Ms Blanche and Mr Graham. I stayed in Scriven's family in Gibb Place.
I was registered by name of Rizqan Arief but I converted as Christian and christened as Adrian David Arif. I'm currently preaching Assemblies of God.
I am so eager to seek more people from those days. I'd like to thank a lot to the people at school on that time, especially Ms Blanche who changed my view towards the world; Ms Martin who taught me the wisdom of free choice and to Mr Graham for the philosophy of learning. These 3 people actually contributed my changed dream to be Engineer to become a teacher.
Thanks a lot people - Press Onwards.

Hi everyone, I noticed a post about a possible 20 year reunion. Well, as it happens, there are two happening. For all details follow these links. And for those without Facebook, please spread the word. this reunion welcomes class of 86-88. would be great for all to come along, including any teachers from those years. The 17th is a casual catch up night, in Springwood, with dinner and drinks and then whatever the night brings. The 18th is a more formal affair in Sydney.

I would have finished HSC in 1987, I finished up in 1985 in year 10. I was not a model student as Mr Russell and many of the staff at the school then would remember. However, just because main stream schooling did not work for me, I still have a story. Further studies Open Foundation Newcastle Uni 1997. Then I studied in alternative therapies: NLK, NLP, TFH, Breathwork, Reiki Master and other complimentary therapies. Along side this I worked my way up the corporate ladder in Telstra. I also completed Cert 4 in SMB & Work Place Training and Assessing. In 2006 I moved to Cambridge UK with my husband, son and had my daughter here in the UK in 2007. I am now happily a stay at home mummy. I was not able to make it to the last school reunion, however would be interested to know what people are doing 20 years on! |

To all those out there looking to go on to university, I see about half the people drop out because they don't like their course, they were doing it for the money. Choose what you love to do, then the money is a bonus, e.g. Games Technology in Computer Science.
